    Inca® embolic protection

Inca® is a thrombolysis catheter with a protection filter designed for the pharmacological dissolution of thrombi in vascular procedures, incorporating a distal filtration system that prevents embolisation to distal territories, enhancing patient safety during interventions in carotid arteries, lower limbs, and other vascular sites.

Inca® is a medical device that combines the administration of thrombolytic agents with a distal protection filter to prevent embolisation during interventional procedures. Its design includes a self-expanding nitinol structure that adapts to the vessel lumen, capturing embolic material released during the intervention. The catheter allows for precise infusion of thrombolytic agents through side infusion ports, ensuring even distribution of the medication.

This system is ideal for procedures in the carotid artery, arterial segments of the lower limbs, and other vascular sites, offering effective distal protection against dislodged plaque fragments or thrombi during angioplasty, stent placement, or other endovascular interventions.

    Features

    • Self-expanding nitinol distal filter that adapts to the vessel lumen to capture embolic material
    • Lateral infusion ports that allow uniform distribution of thrombolytic agents
    • Low-profile design that facilitates insertion and navigation in narrow or tortuous vessels
    • Compatibility with 0.014” or 0.018” guidewires for broad clinical applicability
    • Working lengths ranging from 80 to 120 cm, adapting to different anatomies
    • Outer diameters from 4F to 6F, depending on the infusion lumen size
    • Collapsible filter that allows safe retrieval of captured material without damaging the vessel
    • Materials such as Pebax/Polyamide for the catheter shaft and nitinol or stainless steel for the filter frame

    Benefits

    • Improves patient safety by preventing distal embolization during interventional procedures
    • Allows precise administration of thrombolytic agents, optimizing treatment efficacy
    • Facilitates navigation in complex vessels thanks to its low-profile design and flexible materials
    • Reduces risk of complications associated with distal embolization, such as strokes or peripheral ischemia
    • Expands treatment options for patients with thrombi in various vascular locations
